This is enthralling! There is so much going on that the action never stops. We have vampires, werewolves, witches, goblins, faeries, and of course, humans. The witches hate everybody, the vampires and werewolves are working together against the faeries. Aden is chased, beat up, kidnapped and so much more. Poor Mary Ann finds out she is something that all the supernaturals fear and want to kill. Mary Ann's boyfriend Riley is torn between his duty to Victoria and his new duty of protecting King Aden. You meet Lauren and Stephanie, Victoria's royal sisters and of course, a few evil faeries. This is non-stop action that kept me glued to the pages. I literally couldn't put this book down. I am eagerly awaiting the next installment. Absolutely wonderful!
Aden Stone is a teen with some unusual abilities, not only is he a magnet for the dead; he also happens to have 3 souls trapped inside of him. Aden hasnt belonged anywhere before, but now he is living at a ranch for troubled teens, and finally making a home for himself. He has good friends, a few with their own supernatural abilities and he is currently dating a Vampire princess.
In this, the second book in the series, all sorts of poo is hitting the fan. The Vampire King has been killed, Aden, essentially a human, has been named the new king and just about every Supernatural creature you ever heard of is invading Crossroads, OK. Aden and his pals have their hands full with curses, potential wars, and discovering new gifts within themselves.
I know these books are written for the younger crowd, but I adore them! I am such a big fan of Gena Showalters imagination that were I not so mentally stable, Id probably be camped out on her lawn and/or stalking her through her town wearing a #1 fan getup and trying to pick her brain about her next story.
I would definitely recommend reading the books in order as the storyline is a bit complex and there are a lot of characters and creatures to meet. It had been a while since I had read the first one and I was a little foggy on a few things. Thankfully Ms. Showalter has a glossary in back to help us forgetful folk out. This isnt for the younger teens; I would recommend age 16 and up. There are some make-out moments I wouldnt want my 13 year old niece to read.
There are so many scenes in this book that tugged at my heart and made me smile. I love where this series has taken me so far and I am dying to find out where it leads to next. Its a magical and memorable, and every page exciting. This is a completely addicting series, and I am so mad I have to wait 10 months to get my hands on the next book. Its making me twitchy!

Aden Stone is not your typical teenage boy. He has a vampire princess for a girlfriend, a werewolf who is his best friend, and, oh yeah, he also has three souls who he shares his body with.
When we left Aden in Gena Showalter's last book, INTERTWINED, he had killed the vampire who murdered his girlfriend's father. Sound confusing? It's really not. He who kills the King of the vampires, becomes the new King of the vampires. Even though Aden is human, he's now also the new King.
As if being King wasn't enough, there are things happening that are going to make it even harder for Aden and Victoria to be together. Mary Ann's ex-boyfriend, Tucker, is back causing mischief. Aden, with help from Victoria, is learning about the vampires that he now rules. There is also someone who wants to do Aden harm - someone who is closer than he thinks.
There were questions that were raised in book one that we get answered here, but there are even more questions raised in this new story. It was so nice to get insight into the characters introduced in the first book, though. Ms. Showalter has a knack for creating characters with fascinating lives. More importantly, she has a way of making you feel for her characters, even the ones that you would rather hate.
INTERTWINED was so exciting that you had to wonder if she'd be able to hold up the quality in this next book. Well, she did, and this is one reader who is definitely looking forward to the rest of the story. Although I must say that I enjoyed book one more, UNRAVELED really doesn't disappoint.
