Over the last year or so, I've become aware there is a sci-fi sub-genre out there called "Steam Punk." More than likely, I'm one of the last to discover this. So I thought I'd read one to see if I found it interesting, only to discover it is not "my cup of tea."

Perhaps I just choose the wrong book. While the story was interesting, I dislike novels where our hero has to single-handedly save the world, often using methods which require you to suspend belief. Ordinarily, I'd give a novel another star if it didn't have vampires, zombies or werewolves in it. But this book has "beast men," so it doesn't get that extra star.

This is Book 1 of the Pax Britannia series.
