This book could have been subtitled "Phantom of the Porno" because of the page after page after page of highly graphic sexual content. For the most part it was hot and erotic sex with a little bit of the Phantom thrown in for good measure. Not a bad book overall, but definitely not for anyone shy about sex, bondage and all that jazz. (or is that all that opera? ;-))

I absolutely love Phantom of the Opera, and I've read my fair share of erotica, but this book must have been written on a dare. "How much sex can you fit into the Phantom of the Opera story?" The answer is, "a whole freaking lot!"
You're inundated with so many sex scenes that you get desensitized, and the relationship between Erik and Christine never gets developed. Those minor characters to whom who you've never given a second thought? They're having outrageous sex everywhere, and with everyone else.
Reading "Unmasqued" was such a waste of time.

This book has a lot of explicit and steamy scenes! The story-line is so-so, since it's a re-hash and bastardization of the original, but it all still seems to work out. Overall, you get what you're expecting from a book like this!

Was very disappointed in this book. I've never left a book unfinished before, but I stopped reading this one, skipping to the last page to ensure it had the ending I wanted. I don't mind erotica or endless sex scenes, but the sex scenes just didn't do anything for me. They didn't really move what (limited) plot there was along and some were drawn out for much longer than necessary.
I was hoping for an erotic tale, a different spin if you will, on the Christine & Erik relationship. It isn't really what I got.

Very little plot and story, mostly "smut". What a disappointment and massacre of a classic old story.
Wow, more class than the Sleeping Beauty series and very hot!!

I like the idea of a version more sympathetic to the Phantom, and I was all gung-ho for some erotic scenes to feed my own fantasies about him. And, for the most part, I liked the storyline (the stuff added to the original). However, what I didn't like were the pages and pages of the supporting characters having sex. I guess I am just particular about my erotica, but I like good sex scenes between the hero and heroine. I get into the sex scenes when there is emotion built into them. But just lots of gratuitous sex between the supporting characters doesn't interest me. If it wasn't for that, I would have liked this book a lot more.

This book was hot during the consensual sex scenes, okay.
But the part that I didn't like was how Christine was brutally raped at the end, but was completely willing to have sex with Erik (the Phantom) after.
Rape is not sexy, it's not sensual, it's not fun. And I can't imagine any woman who has been sexually violated would be compliant in having sex with someone else just hours after said violation.

OMG! I have grown up with this movie and story but to read a erotic novel in a different twist of Phantom of the Opera was sinful! I loved it alot, this Author is wicked and sexy with her words of this story. I hope she will write more to a movie like this one and if you havent read THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO get it as well.

I really enjoyed reading this novel. A good erotic story that I would easily read again.
