Three different authors - three different stories related to New Years Eve at the Sans Souci mansion in New Orleans. Loved two out of three of the stories; last one was a downer.

On a warm Spring night in a New orleans Garden District mansion, the pick of Society are gathering. Masquerading as Legndary Lovers, they have come to celebrate the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Duchaise masquerade ball. Charles and Millicent Duchaise have spared no expense---everything is perfect. Everything, that is, except their guests.

Amidst the glitter and the beauty, the music and the revelry, some of the world's most legendary lovers are in trouble. Napoleon is doubting his Josephine, who in turn suspects him of deception. Violetta, Lady of Camellias, has found her Alfredo; only she's not sure she can trust him with her heart. Petruchio is attempting to seduce his Kate, who is reluctant to be tamed. And Juliet has discovered her long lost Romeo is not who he seems...

Three stories set in the same New Orleans ballroom, by three distinctive writers. Stories are so different they are kind of disorienting.

The last story in this was just weird and I honestly ended up skimming -- sort of an out of body experience with a mad man who ends up killing her but, don't worry it was a dream and she did not betray her husband with 2 other guys and then get killed...weird.

The best story in this book was a retelling of Kiss me Kate or Taming of the Shrew.
