In general I'm a huge Karen Kingsbury fan, however I found this book to have some huge gaps in terms of believability. As someone who works in the autism community and has a child on the spectrum I found this book simplistic at best and lacking in understanding at worst.

Karen needs to stick to topics she has knowledgeable on, and obviously autism is not one of them. I disliked this book and found it too much like a fairy tale.

Tis was a great book because although the story was ficticious, it could be real. Families that separate come back together and autism can be overcome. I recommend it to anyone who likes true stories.

I love how this book breaks down the barrier of social classes and bullying. It was great to see someone take action in something they believed was wrong. This was a great overall book and i would recomend it to anyone.

Excellent story by a compelling, masterful writer. I had read all of Karen's books up until a few years ago when I became tired of her very long series. Now I am definitely back for her stand-alones! She is a very talented, high quality writer.

I really enjoyed this book. It shows a lot of perseverance over problems that can't be easily solved. One of the main characters is willing to go against the her friends and kids at school to help someone. I would highly recommend everyone reading this book.

Unlocked, by Karen Kingsbury
Book Review:

Zondervan sent me a new, free book by Karen Kingsbury, called Unlocked, in exchange for me to write a review about her newest life-changing fiction book she has written. This book is a touching story about a young boy who was struck with Asperbergers Syndrome, (a form of Autism,) at the young age of three. As a teenager attending regular High School, he begins being drawn out of his locked shell by a long, lost, young playmate whom he used to play with as a young boy. Unknowingly, they meet back up together in High School through music. She was touched with the magic of the blessings of the Lord, our God, to draw out this young man afflicted with Aspergers... To miss this book is to miss the magic our Lord has working in us in ways we never know until they happen.
