If I could give this book zero stars, I would. Thankfully, I did not buy this--but I did waste a credit requesting it through paperbackswap.com. I think the reason I added the book to my wish list is that someone in the Sunday paper's book section had recommended it. This is a slim volume (259 pages) and I can often read an engaging book of this length in a day or two. It took me probably a month to slog through this. The main characters are not very likeable, the issue with the pony is improbable, the interaction between Mr. Buchanan and one of the servants is ridiculous, and the "truth" about the uninvited guests is bizarre. Don't waste your time or book credit on this drivel.
