Tall girl, taller guy. Nice, easy read. Seemed to drag a little in the middle, but I think a lot of females can relate with Lanie's predicament in one way or another.

A warm, funny book with appropriate amounts of steamy sex.

As a deputyin Majestic, Colorado, Lanie Prescott doesn't see enough action issuing parking tickets, so she decides to accept a law-enforcement job elsewhere. On the night of her going-away party, the job offer is postponed, and Lanie is stuck in her hometown, unemployed. Her replacement is tall, gorgeous and steals her heart.

I liked this book alot. It was a nice romance story. :)

The too tall h/h get over their mutual sterotypes as a hot Miami cop moves to a tiny resort town in the Colorado Rockies to take her job. Two cops, lots of sizzle, even Mom gets a boyfriend! Fun characters, well drawn and effective.

Predictable romance novel based in a small town. Good development of mother/daughter relationship. The love interests in the novel are likable and interesting. Slow in some parts, where you aren't sure how the information is contributing to the plot or character development. Overall, good mindless romance read.

Enjoyable read with lead characters that treat each other with respect. Welcome change from the usual bickering seen in romance novels.

Lanie is happy to be free of the macho, misogynistic chief of police in Majestic, Colorado, and to finally have a deputy job in which she can use her police skills rather than being a glorified meter maid, but she is sad to be leaving her hometown and her mother. But right before her going away party, Lanie learns that her new job has been postponed, and that's only the first disaster of the night. She insults her replacement, Paul Cabrera; then her stereo is stolen; and she breaks her leg pursuing the thief. Paul comes to her rescue, and the two manage to achieve a peaceful co-existence. A former Miami police officer, Paul has come to Majestic to revive his love of police work, not expecting to get involved with the woman he is replacing. Now Lanie is stuck living at home without a job and fighting her attraction to the new hunk in town in this delightful romance filled with small-town follies.

Lanie Preescott's new, more exciting, job falls through at the last moment. Maintaining a brave face isn't easy - especially when she meets her replacement. When a summer crime wave hits the towm, Lanie is back on the force and what began as attraction turns into an internal affair of the heart. Suddenly, life in Majestic isn't so bad.

What a snoozer!!

I was kind of looking forward to this one. It looked cute and homey, and the back of the book detail seemed promising. However, things didn't maintain a decent speed for me, and there seemed to be no action what-so-ever at all after the big opening scene and the drama therein.
Laney seemed to be just sitting around while her widowed mother's love-life had a little drama thrown in with a possible love interest from the snotty and smarmy chief of policy, which seemed to pick up the storyline a bit. But even the new cop in town, Paul, who left Miami FL for the smalltown gig seemed like he was getting bored.
I started hesitating picking this book up, and eventually picked up something else. This one was tough to push through for sure. I only made it to chapter 8.

Maintaining a brave face is hard..especially when she meets her replacement. He's tall, he's gorgeous and her heart beats so fast she should be arrested for imagining all the ways she could use her handcuffs. Paul Cabrera left the Miami P. D. to distance himself from an old case that haunts him to this day. But his pursuit of a quiet life is hardly that with the sexy Lanie living next door.
