Behind the wheel or in the boardroom-Anthony DiLeo is accustomed to coming out on top. Until Tess Hardaway makes him an offer he can't refuse. His solid proposal to combine their businesses for profit turns provacative when she counters with the suggestionthey drive cross country together..getting to know each other in every possible way. Its a sweetly sexy deal only a fool would pass up. Tess proves she has some irresistibly fancy moves, both on the road and off. And by the time its too late to turn back, Anthony definitely is not coming out on top. But it seems that where Tess is concerned, he's satisfied to come in second

I loved the backdrop for this book - the world of auto racing - as my Dad was a big drag racing fan. Not sure if he would have seen the ferociousness in a purple Gremlin that Tess Hardaway (or Jeanie London) did but... Give me the Camaros, the Mustangs, the T-Birds anyday, even a Pacer would have been better. Anyway, I digress.

The plotline is good. Auto mechanic world meets Auto sales world in a win-win situation but the Auto sales world can't be gotten to. So the ever inventive Anthony DiLeo decides to approach Tess Hardaway as a way to get to her father, the head of the business and the ultimate goal. But, as a good story goes, plans go awry and Anthony and Tess end up spending some long, hot days driving a non-high speed race for the glory of it. And after some diversions of their own and some plot twists to help, they end up with that win-win and a lot more to boot.
