If you can suspend belief and ok with unbelievable coincidences, knock yourself out with this book. I think the author wrote the whole thing by the seat of her pants. Hopefully this is just a fluke and her next book won't be absolutely horrible.

Wow what a beginning. If chapter three doesn't tear your heart out, you obviously don't have one. I cried my eyes out reading what happened to Zack. As if all the shit he's dealing with wasn't enough...poor guy. Zack has more trouble than he can deal with and he gets the living crap beat out of him by numerous people throughout the story and spends way to much time in the hospital.
In an interesting twist, Zack is the virgin here and though he's a genius, he's nervous and insecure with the ladies. It's a nice change from the usual story. Both Zack and Cori have dangerous secrets which they are keeping from each other, of course. And of course, they backfire and all hell breaks loose. I liked Trial By Fire but really loved this one. These firefighters are something else and I can't wait to read Hidden Fire.
