Interesting view of life of migrant workers, but sometimes distracting in the "flips" between obscure dialogue and Spanish phrases.
This was a book I had to read for class. It was interesting, but a little hard to read at first. It was a little difficult to figure out who the characters were and figure out what was going on.
Mexican immigrant farm workers in California, the main character, young Estrella falls in love with Alejo and helps him when his life is threatened.
I loved this book. I read it in a Latino lit. class. Her words and images will haunt you.
