This book is a real page turner. A religious fanatic takes 11 kids and their bus driver hostage. He holds them underground in a buried school bus. The book details their struggle during their captivity, the FBI's handling of the case, and a reporter's involvement. I really enjoyed reading about the psychology of a cult leader and how he justified murder in the name of God. It is an interesting insight into the mind of the insane. The other characters are rich and real and easy to identify with. You are left full of admiration for the strength and courage of the kids, the bus driver, the reporter and all the FBI agents. Suspenseful without being horrifying. Molly Cates, the reporter, is a strong, intelligent, resourceful, down-to-earth woman with a good sense of humor. I loved the character. A good read.
