This author badly needed a fact checker for this book! She had a vacation in Alaska, liked it and decided that that qualified her to set a book there. Two mistakes among many others: 1)On page 42, she says "It's a long drive from Juneau.." meaning to the lodge where much of the action is set. But *that* location is near Talkeetna, and you cannot drive from Juneau to Talkeetna without taking a ferry, and even then it takes about 21 hours driving, according to Google. Almost no one would do it unless they were afraid to fly, and that character wasn't. And 2)More than once in the first half of the book she has people diving underwater then getting right in a plane and flying. This is biologically very dangerous, and any professional diver would know that.

Apart from such bloopers (there were more), the book has a preposterous plot, decent characters and just-okay suspense.
