I don't know if it's just me, but this book is weak. I liked the other ones in this series, but I put this one down about half-way through, because it felt like nothing was happening.
I did pick it back up and finish it, but I was very disappointed.
It is cute and moves quickly, but there wasn't much of a plot. I wondered if the writer had a deadline and was like, "Oh snap, I need to send in my manuscript tomorrow! That's okay, I can write it tonight!"
It was a cute idea, but enough already. It needs more.

I'm not entirely sure why I'm still reading this series of books. They're not terribly plot-driven. Or sexy. The only difference between these and the romances my mom used to read is a bit of fang and a whole lot more cursing...and I think my mom's Silhouettes had more sex.
That said, they're like crack. Even though I'm having a rough time developing any sort of sympathy for Betsy (just what is it that Eric sees in her?), I can't wait to find out more about George. Is there a type of therapy for this?

Another so-so "Betsy" book which is starting to dissapoint me. The writing is a non-stop riot but no real plotline unless the "do you love me, I love you" between Betsy and Eric count. LOTS of unresolved issues at the end from minor to somewhat important. I'm assuming these are to be answered in a later novel but I'm not sure. Great books but really, it seems like this was another rush job. I'm holding out for the hope that the next book in the series is one with a real plot and a rise and fall to it instead of a flatline with a few burps.
And she also seriously needs to go on a Manolo spree. NOW.

This book didn't live up to Queen Betsy standards in my opinion. It felt choppy in places. Also the twist of the book was just skimmed and didn't go into enough detail. With that being said, I'm not quite ready to give up on Queen Besty and I will read the next in the series.

Betsy, Queen of the Vampires, is in the middle of planning her perfect wedding, but she has to deal with all the ghosts who want her attention! Another wonderful book from Maryjanice Davidson.

Another adventure for the Queen of the Vamps...wedding plans, a serial killer and ghosts who demand services before they will leave!! This book is up to her usual standards.

I didn't think this book was quite as good as the previous one, Undead and Unappreciated. I also found a few editing mistakes which forced me to go back and reread things a couple times so I could figure out what MJD really meant. Like one time she referred to something that Laura supposedly said, but it totally didn't make sense, so after I reread it, I realized it was the ghost Cathie who probably said that. A few other instances of transposed words, or something running on so I had to reread. And I bring it up only because I didn't see this kind of thing in any of her previous stuff I've read. All that aside, I was beginning to appreciate how books 2 and 3 had a lot more story to them, and instead, this book seemed more fluff, kinda like the first one. It was still funny... not hilarous, but a quick read that had me chuckling none the less.

Still a cute series. This one was better than the one that came before it - but I don't think it had the level of the first two.

As Christmas approaches, Betsy has more on her mind than Queenly duties. There's still shopping to be done, a Christmas tree to put up in Jessica's house (to the horror of the vamps that reside there!) and her new baby step-brother. There's also a wedding to plan (she keeps pushing back the date she'll make it official with Sinclair), the matter of former-Bee Jon wanting to write her life's story for a college class, the reappearnce of vampire librarian Marjorie who wants her to write a column for the new vamp-based newsletter, and that god-awful Book of the Dead.
Add to that some other problems--there's a murderer called the Driveway Killer loose in Minneapolis, Sinclair isn't too happy about finding out that Betsy can hear his thoughts during their "intimate" moments, and Jessica is dating Detective Nick--and you have another comedy of errors starring the Queen of the Vampires.
This book is typical MaryJanice Davidson; funny, sarcastic, and full of snarky dialogue. Add to that Eric Sinclair's delicious "metrosexuality", and it's another winner.

Once again, Betsy the Vampire Queen makes you laugh out loud with her antics. All the favorite characters are here too-Eric Sinclair, George the feral vampire, the devil's daughter Laura and Jessica the billionaire benefactor. I love this series.

The bummer about this book is that it is BAD. The first couple books in this series were fun. Lots of spunk, attitude, good clothes... or at least one could imagine them. Take sex in the city and make the main character a recently undead vampire. Unfortunately this book seemed like a mix of a 7th graders writing project with a jumpy plot and a bad romance novel (ie tidbits of explicit sex scenes for those people who enjoy the romance genre). I will probably still keep reading the series but hey- I keep eating sugar too.

The 4th installment of the Betsy saga, and just as good as the previous books. It's Christmas which Betsy is determined to celebrate, much to Sinclair's dismay (that whole Christ's birthday thing you know...) and there is a Serial Killer on the loose.

While I loved the previous books in the series, this one was not so great. It was funny and all, but it had no real plot. I read it in one day hoping I was going to get to the juicy stuff and I never got there....Also, it's starting to get rather vulgar. I normally dont care about that stuff, but after hearing her go on and on about getting f***ed (yes, she actually uses THAT word), it gets tiresome. I found some typos and other mistakes but that didnt bother me as much as the lack of plot. I will still read the rest of the series since I loved the first three books. I hope they're better than this and I hope to see more of Mark!

This book was ok but it is starting to feel like Davidson is struggling to move the series along. The book was less than 300 pages and most of the plot was unremarkable. There is no character development to speak of. I'm not sure if this series is going to stay on my reading list.

Queen Betsy is planning her wedding to Sinclair, coping with a young Blade Warrior's puppy love, continuing a friendship with a cop, dealing with her step-mom and new half-brother and anything else that is thrown in the path of the Queen of vampires. What an interesting crazy twist on your usual vampire books!

Queen of the Vampires Betsy Taylor is in the middle of planning the perfect wedding to drop-dead gorgeous vamp Eric Sinclair. But all is not bouquets and bridal showers-Betsy is plagued by ghosts who demand her help in rectifying their past mistakes, and a serial killer is on the loose. With his victims all being tall, blond women, Betsy fits the profile exactly.
From the Hardcover:
Though she's the vampire queen, Betsy Taylor is much more like a princess. In MaryJanice Davidson's novels, this high-maintenance monarch is finally coming to terms with her new status.
They say Christmas is a time for friends and family. But with a half-sister who's the devil's daughter, an evil stepmother, a fiend living in her basement, assorted spirits and killers running amok, and a spring wedding to plan with the former bane of her existence, Eric Sinclair, Betsy is not sure she'll survive the holidays.
Oh, right. She's already dead...

Queen of the Vampires series
Enjoyed everone in the series. Has store stamp inside cover.
I like these Queen Betsy stories because of their humor, but find them overpriced! The font is large and the book issued in harcover/oversized paperback - too small a story for the high price! Best to trade for it or check it out of the library. Having Queen Bersy discover that she has a sister who's the daughter of the devil is a fine twist of fate.
Great series! Lighthearted and funny. Betsy is kickass!
This book worked better than book 3 for me. We had a lot more Besty/Sinclair interaction this time which propelled their relationship and made it a bit more convincing. Besty solves some new crime, introduction of a new ghost, a baby, a new couple, and George the Fiend.

Really enjoyable read; I thought about keeping this for my own collection, but by the time I read everything that is on the shelf, I'll be in my 90's. It's unlikely I'll read this again, so time to get it moving, even though I'm sad to see it go.
