I actually liked that Betsy finally had to figure out how to function on her own and kick some royal butt! I will be interested to see how the outcome this book progresses. I am also interested to see where the plot is going with BabyJon.

I didn't enjoy this one as much as the others in the series. It was all about Betsy. Don't get me wrong, I think Betsy is hilarious and it was kind of cool to see her prove to everyone that she's pretty self-sufficient. But, I was disappointed to find that all of the fun great characters that I've come to love throughout the series only seemed to make short guest appearances throughout the book. That being said, it did have some cool twists & turns in the end that I think will set up some interesting story lines for future installments.

By far my favorite Betsy book, this one actually seems to have a point, beyond the trying-to-be-funny fluff, and brings many of the themes and incidents from the previous books to bear in creating a story and situations that leave Betsy to her own devices and show her true mettle as the Vampire Queen. Fans of the series will be rewarded for their patience slogging through some of the lesser books to get to this one.

Undead and Uneasy is the 6th book in MaryJanice Davidson's Betsy Taylor series. Betsy Taylor is the Queen of the Vampires. She really doesn't want to be a Queen. She didn't even want to be a vampire. She woke up one morning to find that she was dead and had been turned into a vampire. In the big Book of the Dead, it prophesied that she would be queen and her consort would be the delectably sexy, Eric Sinclair. Sure enough it comes true and now Betsy is planning her wedding to Eric. Betsy is about to pull her hair out because nobody wants to help her with all the arrangements most of all, the lucky groom.
I have only listened to this series on audio and never read any of the books. I like the way that Lucy Woo narrates the stories. She does Betsy's voice really well, but I don't like the way she does Sinclair. I think it is hard for women narrators to do men's voices well. Sinclair always comes across as sounding very condescending and I dont think that if I was reading the book myself he wouldnt sound condescending.
Anyway, I thought this Betsy book was average. Betsy is very demanding in this book and she tended to get on my nerves. This book by far was my favorite of the series! It was a very quick read and had me engrossed from from the first page. This book has Betsy planning her wedding when suddenly everyone she knows and loves starts disappearing or dying on her.
Betsy has to come into her own as the Queen of the Vampires and discovers new powers in order to survive her latest challenges. We also get to meet some of the werewolves from the Dead and Loving it and Derik's Bane Series.

If you're looking for a fun read to finish before bedtime, UNDEAD AND UNEASY will do the trick. It only takes about two hours to read from first page to last, and you'll get in a few laughs along the way.

This was another great book in the series! Lots of giggles and couldn't put it down!
I really didn't have to think to breeze through this. A friend told me the brain needs some candy once in awhile. This'll rot it for sure.
The Queen Besty series is one of my favorite series of books. I love MaryJanice Davidson's style of writing. This is the 6th Book in the series and it is where Betsy finally gets to wed Sinclair. Definately read this series.
Nobody expects a heavy read when picking up a book in this series, but this book really had nothing to it. Betsy is abandoned by her supporting cast for most of the book, and it reads in a choppy, half-conscious haze. I wondered if it was me...was I on something? Was I distracted by my kids or husband? The answer is, no, it was just badly thrown together. I'm going to wishlist the next two books only because I'm a stubborn sort of bitch and want to finish what I've started, but I can't say I ever enjoyed my time reading this installment of what previously was at least an amusing series.

Queen Betsy was on her own for a good half of the book, so you really got to see her grow into her own without the help of the other characters. The mystery as to why she is all alone was perfect.
They are fun, flippant, insouciant and generally speaking they tease you on the good, the bad and ugly of life as a vampire and all the croonies that hang out in that crowd. Lots of fun.

I got this book for Christmas and it was the first one I read. I had to start reading the rest after that. A very different take on vampires!
Way to string out a wedding. I like these Queen Betsy stories because of their humor, but find them overpriced! The font is large and the book issued in harcover/oversized paperback - too small a story for the high price! Best to trade for it or check it out of the library.

I enjoy this series because they're fun and easy to read. This one seemed a little slower to me. Still pretty good though.
This book was a fun, quick read. A great comeback after the previous one Undead and Unpopular. I like how Betsy took control at the end of this. I hope she continues to grow as a "Person" . Looking forward to the rest of the series
I was actually disappointed with this book. I usually love the Betsy books, but I am getting tired of the blond idiot routine. It's about time Betsy was given a little depth of character and not just a stupid shoe hound. She does actually show a few glimmers of self-awareness in this book, but lets see if the author lets her actually grow a little in future books or continues to use the "I'm an idiot but either my friends or some groovy new power I didn't know I had and don't know how I used will bail me out so why should I bother actually learning anything" formula.

But eventually, the unnecessary use of SO much profanity just began to annoy me. These books are so short and printed in such large type that you can finish them in one or two sittings (I've read short stories that are longer...). I bet if you removed all the profanity from this one, it would only be half as long.
If you've been following Betsy's story from the beginning, you'll probably read this book, and the next, and the next, etc. Just don't expect much, and you probably won't be disappointed.

Another great Queen Betsy book. Betsy is all alone, her friends, family and Sinclair have deserted her, right before her wedding! She actually has to do this one all alone, and she pulls it off wonderfully! Betsy also discovers some new Queenish powers!
I Love this series... I am patiently waiting the next installment.

Add to that, Betsy has to deal with an unexpected loss in her family and the new responsibilities that brings. In addition, Antonia's werewolf pack descends on Betsy looking for Antonia and this is the last thing she needs! She still has to find the perfect wedding dress!

I thought this book was funny but it was not as good as the first five books in the series.
The 6th book in the Queen Betsy series is all about Betsy, with all her friends and family MIA. Although I thought it was a fun read, I thought the story line was missing something with all her crazy friends out of the picture. Still a fun read though.
Just finished this little one last night. It was a pretty quick read for me, just a couple evenings before bed and I was done. The story line was okay, it is a furthering of the story line. I really didn't see the characters grow very much nor did I really learn anything new about them. To not spoil anything for anyone, there were a number of "significant emotional events" that occurred to the main character and she really didn't respond in a corresponding emotional manner. I've read all the other books with this series and I will probably end my relationship with the series here. I have read a number of things by this author within the last few months and many of the characters seem rather shallow like they weren't fully thought out and developed. If you like fluffy vampire chick-lit you might like this book, if your looking for something a little deeper, you might want to skip this one.
Everyone is disappearing right before Betsy's wedding and even Betsy is starting to think something is wrong. A few characters die along the way and the author worried her fans wouldn't like it. In the forward, she wrote how she was waiting to write this book and that she hoped her fans wouldn't abandon her (or something along those lines). It seemed unnecessary and kind of awkward after finishing the book. I mean, honestly, I enjoyed the book because I love Betsy and her (mis)adventures. It truly was a great installment to the series, but I wish the author hadn't had a crisis of self-doubt when writing the forward because it really wasn't necessary. I think this installment really gave some depth to Betsy that fans will appreciate. :)
