Well another Clancy wannabe. This is a decent story, ruined by a not to believable ending. Book is about a submarine that has the President's son onboard as an officer, and it gets captured by the chinese navy. No one wants to tell the chinese that the son is onboard so a special ops mission is sent to get the crew back.
Good enough plot, but I wouldn't read another Robinson book again.

Of all of his books, this one I felt most focused on the characters as opposed to the big stakes. In many ways it is also the most downbeat. That said, it contains all the elements that I have come to expect from this author, an informed view of modern navel operations, tight pacing, and surprising reversals.

I believe this is the last story in the Silent Service series. A great story that will keep you turning the pages.
America's newest, fastest, quietist and most technologically advanced nuclular Submarine is disabled and then captured by the Red Chineese and towed into a port in China. The US must do something and they do or actually the Seals do. I really enjoyed this story.
