As a wanna be sailor, I was fascinated by the detail of this book. I cannot ever imagine myself in that situation and know that I would not be able to tolerate it. Our 21st century sensibilities cannot even fathom the hardship that was endured on the voyage. Months without washing my hair? Horrors! I was glad to have the graphics of the boats in the back even though they were a little hard to read. I also had to get out a map of California to see the coastal areas he was referring to.

Just sbsolutely fascinating.
