A story of Mary, mother of Jesus and Joanna, wife of Chuza, chief steward to Herod Antipas. The story is of two brave women who lives change by meeting each other in adulthood. They are actually cousins and Joanna asks Mary to send Jesus to her to heal her. After that, her life changes, completely. Quite a good book. Fast reading.

When Joanna, wife to Herod's chief steward, seeks help to restore her health (consumption) she approaches her estranged cousin, Mary, mother of Jesus. Their families separated long ago due to a difference in beliefs. A friendship blooms between the two women and Joanna's life is forever changed. Compelling back story of Jesus' mother and the event leading up to his crucifixion. Group study questions included.
