When, in 1926, he came to write "The Questions of Lay Analysis" in defence of a non-medical colleague acccused of quackery, he had greatly developed his theory of the structure of the mind, with its "ego" and its "id", and this pamphlet provides a description of psychoanalysis and its relation to orthodox medicine.« less
