A decent true-crime. Hard to believe intelligent, ambitious people would live in such a demented and depressing marriage. But, the victim stayed with this nut case through 27 years. Very sad. Well reported and a quick read.

He had a successful career, a selfless wife, three loving children and a secret that tore apart his picture-perfect world. Read the true story of Dr. Richard Sharpe and his society wife Karen.

Too close to home! Having lived in Gloucester for the past 33 years, I'm not sure why I chose to relive this terrible tragedy. Perhaps it was because I am familiar with many of the places and some of people mentioned in the book. I never met Richard Sharpe but onced transported patients to his East Gloucester practice. I cannot say I enjoyed reading this book, yet I could not put it down.
