A very enjoyable book. I live near Cape May so it is nice to read about this seashore town.

Former teacher Sam Ford was on the road to nowhere when he chanced upon the New Jersey shore town of Capr May. Then the owners of the Abbadon Inn - an historic B&B under restoration -- made him an irrestible offer;free room and board and a salary to home-school their troubled son. He should have kept traveling.

The house was so still... Former teacher Sam Ford was on the road to nowhere when he chanced upon the New Jersey shore town of Cape May. Then the owners of the Abbadon Inn-a historic B & B under restoration-made him an irresistible offer:free room and board and a salary to home-school their troubled son.
You'd think that everything was at peace, but Sam wonders if he should have kept traveling. The odor of decay hangs in the air, an icy chill sweeps through the third floor, and human bones are unearthed on the property. Then Sam finds his name in the original Abbadon registry among the earliest guests.
It's Not. It wasn't chance that brought Sam to the Inn. It was fate, reaching out from the past when his ancestors lived-and died-in chains. Now they want something from him. And that something may be his life.
The Abbadon Inn is back in business.
A really good book that is filled with suspense and surprises that you don't see coming.

Scary! Book 1 of the Abbadon Innm and in my opinion the best

The three books are actually an idea presented by one of the publishers who selected 2 time nominated Bram Stoker award author Elizabeth Massie to write them! They are each different stories of the evil that is in this inn comes back to haunt the ancestors of those who lived there.
The first story is about a black man falsely accused of molesting a teen. He moves away, to a small town called Cape May where he is hired as a tutor for the inn's new owners. The spooks then become more and more apparent to all of its inhabitants in a very well crafted spooky manner! A quick read too, real page turner due to Massie's great writing style! Enjoy this spookfest.
