I read this book for fun during my freshman year of bible college. I thought it would be a great way to relax from the stress of textbook cramming. I got more out of the book than I ever imagined possible! It really made the book of Philemon come alive to me. Every time I think of the story of Onesimus (the slave), I see him in a completely different light. It relates the incredible journey of mankind from slavery to sin, finding freedom in Christ, and developing a servant's heart. I definitely recommend this book.

Wow! What a wonderful book, as always another beautifully written book by Patricia St.John. She is a master at bringing her characters to life and weaving a tale so captivating you just can't put the book down. My boys and I couldn't stop reading it, we would always read at least two chapters a day, we usually just read one chapter in a book for breakfast, this was one of those exception. She made Onisemus, the main character, come alive. Onisemus is the slave of Philemon, it's his story of revenge and redemption. She also made the time period seem so real. If I could have given this book more stars I would have.
