This book took forever to finish and not in a slow burn way. A murder from twenty years (2001) ago is revisited (2021). A famous author found dead and the mistress accused who dies in the 9/11 attacks. A burned out retired detective who originally investigated the case (Walt) and a television personality (Avery) intent on a story are on a collision course investigating the past and revisiting the murder evidence. A parallel story about Avery's past takes up most of the book and the conclusion to the story kind of left a loose end.
Wow, this was a great book! Lots going on with multi layered mysteries and unexpected twists and turns. This is my first book by this author but it will definitely not be my last!
DNF this one!
I got to about page 100 and nothing and I mean NOTHING is happening except for so many descriptions I got so frustrated and aggravated with every page that didn't offer anything but descriptions
The main story doesn't even get started at this point, and I sure don't need to know about driving to NY or anywhere else with descriptions of mile after mile and this happens throughout this book and was so boring
Kudos to those that like this author, his writing style, and his stories but I haven't found a one that I've liked but I think this one is worst and I paid for it? mistake on my part never do it again, not an author for me!
