It all started when I saw myself dead.
Twenty four year old Rose Gardner lives in small town Henryetta Arkansas, works at the DMV, lives with her overbearing mom and oh by the way, has visions. A Friday afternoon at work becomes worse when Rose has a vision of her death while waiting on a somewhat shady character. The following day she has loud argument with her mom (the first one ever!) and leaves for the day. During her time away from the house, Rose writes a wish list on the back of a Wal-Mart receipt. When she returns later in the evening, her mom is dead on the sofa in the manner that she had seen herself. Hunky new neighbor, Joe, becomes a quick ally although he refuses to talk to the police when things go south for Rose. Rose works through her wish list while trying to prove she is not a murderer.
It is a huge coming of age (rather late) book with mystery, intrigue, betrayal, and romance. There were times I wanted to cry along with Rose for all her missed youth. A quick easy read that held my attention and left me wanting more.
