we become more aware of the contrasts between good and evil,
light and darkness-especially when Satan would have us believe
that right is wrong and wrong is right? The Lord described Zion
as being a society where the people were of one heart and one
mind, where they lived together in righteousness, and they had
no poor among them. This did not happen without individuals
making righteous choices and the necessary changes in their lives.
Can we do that now? Can we come closer to Zion than we are?
Mary Ellen Edmunds has served as director of training at the
Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah, and as a member
of the Relief Society general board. She graduated from the
College of Nursing at Brigham Young University, has been a
faculty member at BYU, and has served full-time missions in
Asia and Africa. She currently lives in American Fork, Utah.« less
