Angelina Bonaparte is a 50+-year-old private investigator. Her father is a traditional Italian-American who is only interested in his daughter settling down with a nice man. Angela's mother died when she was young, and her aunt left the convent to take care of Angela and her father.
Angela got involved in the case when Grace Belloni asked her to check on her husband; she thought Anthony was having an affair. She took the case since this mirrored Angela's experience (she left her husband for doing the same). However, Anthony's paramour wound up dead, and Anthony was the prime suspect.
This is a page-turner with nice twists and turns and great character development. A few things were off, but generally, the story was entertaining. One issue that bothered me was Angela's expensive wardrobe, which was (supposedly) based on a former librarian's income. Another was the ridiculous surname. I think that with more experience, this author will smooth out the wrinkles and increase her reader's delight.
