This is a standalone book, and it was just so-so. Not as good as his series books, and as for the mystery, let's just say the day after I finished the book, I forgot what it was about. Not typical Patterson!
Please oh please don't waste your money--this is a terrible book, it is very hard to follow and even by 3/4 way through it I still didn't know what was going on, it gets into politics and it just doesn't make any sense, I finally had to give up it was so boring and so badly written.
I don't think Patterson wrote it, I think he passed it off to the other guy and then didn't proof read it to see if it made any sense, it isn't a thriller or a mystery, the only mystery was who was 'they'

Truth or Die is very exciting and keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering what is going to happen next. It has lots of action and no slow sections to pass by quickly. It is full of surprises from the boy genius. There is a love story in the background in which the two were great friends with benefits. If you enjoy James Patterson, you will love this one.
