A fast-paced, well-written literary thriller. It's a dazzling book within a book with twists and turns, moving backwards and forwards in time. You won't want to put the book down. An award winning book by a French author writing an American thriller. I will read any book by Joel Dicker, I hope there will be more like this one.

A part of me wants to give this book a 4-star rating, because the story was amazing. However, the writer's style left me struggling to read more than a few pages at a time. I can usually finish a book in 2-3 days but was working on this one for over a week.

If you have the patience, and don't mind seeing excerpts from the story reappear on other pages, then I suggest this book for the storyline. I'm not sorry I worked my way through it, but there were too many times I wanted to give up.
