  The Truth About God’s Grace

This essay is about the true loving mercy and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. There are a lot of Christians today that do not truly understand God’s grace. They go about thinking that God’s grace is a work of righteousness that we all must do to achieve our salvation. My friend there is nothing or any kind of work that we ourselves can do to achieve our salvation. Christ redeemed us with not corruptible things like silver or gold, but with His precious blood. (1 Peter 1:18-19) We belong to Him, not ourselves. Our righteousness is like filthy rags, in His sight. No works of righteousness can save anyone. We are saved by grace through faith in Christ only. (Ephesians 2:8-9) Good works are only a sign of God’s grace as a result of our salvation.

As we continue our study in God’s grace, we will discover that God draws us to Him by His Holy Spirit and seals us to be His sheep. (Ephesians 1:13-14; John 10:27-29) True believers are eternally secured in the Lord Jesus Christ. Does this mean that we can continue to sin? The Apostle Paul stated in Romans 6:1-2, “Shall we continue to sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died in sin live any longer in it”? If we are dead to sin, we must be alive to God in Christ Jesus. We are freed from the Law, that sin shall not have dominion over you for you are under grace. (Romans 6:13-15) The Law actually shows us that we are all sinners that can not save ourselves. We actually deserve God’s wrath because of our sin, but because He loves us and gave His Son for us. (Romans 5:8) He gives us His loving grace and mercy in which we do not deserve. Our deepest prayer and desire is for all people to truly understand the real meaning of God’s loving grace.

So many people are deceived by Satan in thinking that they can work for their salvation in works of righteousness. Truly, I say there is no way that we can ever earn our salvation; it was already paid for by the precious blood of the lamb, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. So many of us need to abolish our self-righteousness and remove ourselves off the throne and place the Lord of lords and Kings of kings Jesus Christ upon the throne of grace, (Hebrews 4:16) for He has already performed the work of righteousness for us and now sits at the right hand of God the Father in Heaven and intercedes for us on our behalf. (Hebrews 1:3) He offered Himself once for all. (Hebrews 7:27) When we don’t accept God’s grace and mercy, we continue to sacrifice Him over and over with our useless works of righteousness that cannot save us and never will. Baptism does not save us, just being good enough will not save us, we must be born again in the spirit of the living God. God seeks a close relationship with Him, as a son looks to his father for guidance, we too must do the same.

Only through the Lord Jesus Christ and accepting His amazing grace and mercy can we truly be saved from the depths of hell itself. Jesus said. “I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Me”. (John 14:6) May we all open our eyes and our hearts in understanding the true meaning of God’s loving grace and mercy. Lord have mercy upon us all! God’s grace testifies of His loving mercy that He has shown to us all, only by accepting it can we truly have God’s peace and joy to include a closer relationship with Him in spirit and truth.
