Fairly early Crusie, but still funny and sassy and sexy. When investigative reporter Dennie Banks goes after the story of a feminist writer's marital meltdown, she also gets tangled up in a real estate sting when the hunky investigator thinks she's the con-man's accomplice.
Another good one from Crusie -- her books are formulaic, but still very enjoyable.
Fun read in the inimitable Crusie style - filled with lots of quirky characters who have lots of [frequently snarky] conversations while moving through a comedy of errors plot. There are actually two romance plots - the younger Alec and Dennie and the older Victoria and Harry - none of whom had 'meet the love of your life' penciled into their agenda. WARNING: this is actually a re-release from the 90s - something that is not made clear in the ads.
Great fast paced read. Really engaging dialogue and interesting situations. Love Jennifer Crusie.
Funny and simple story of mistaken identity. He thinks she is a swindler, she thinks he is a air head Clark Kent look a like. There is some funny banter between H and h that did make me laugh out loud, but the story was corny, too clean and nothing new.
Fun, quick read involving a comedy of errors. Really easy to read with great dialogue.
Crusie calls this an old-school screw-ball comedy. The action happens quickly, the characters are snappy, and everything is resolved happily. My only beef is that becuase everything happened so quickly, you never get a good sense of why the characters connected emotionally. The outside-the-romance plot stuff was brilliant, though.
Awesome This book got me hooked on Jennifer Cruise!
Cruises books are very light and easy to read. This one had a nice comic twist to it.
What if you are just doing your job and you meet The One? Which One comes first?
