It started out really well. Teenagers in acting school which I related to because I attended an acting school in my 20s. It then went really off the rails. The characters were unlikable and I couldn't understand the romantic attachments. It seemed like the two main characters who were supposed to be in love didn't have a real relationship. When it added all the other people in, it was hard to follow who was who. It had a lot of raunchy sex in it that wasn't really sexy or romantic. It was supposed to end in a way that explained why the author turned everything on its head, but it left me cold. I was really surprised because she has won many awards and went to highly regarded academic institutions. I bought this book because it had a wonderful write up which was totally misleading. I am giving it two stars because some of the writing was quite poetic and beautiful, but the plot and characters were seriously wanting.
