I, too, won an ARC of this book in a "First Reads" giveaway. When it arrived in the mail, I took one look at it and didn't expect much, but was very surprised once I started reading. It was very enjoyable, with a quirky lead character and interesting storyline - a murder, romance and a psychic. The first book in a series, it was fast and fun. I'm looking forward to her next one.

Oh my god! I loved this book. Though of course there was one downfall....there was not one drop of sex in it. *sighs* How does that happen? LOL! But other then that this book was great. Cute. Funny. Entertaining. The characters were loveable. And most importantly the story line was as smooth as silk from start to finish.

The story follows Lucy Valentine a woman who comes from a long blood line that has been blessed, and cursed, by Cupid himself in the art of match making. However while they can help others find their one true love the Valentine's are cursed at matching themselves so their marriages don't last. To make matters worse when Lucy was younger an accident zapped her matching making abilities and now she can only find lost items. Rings..car keys.. her fathers thong bikini. *shudders* If it's lost chances are she can find it... just so long as it isn't human or animal.

When Lucy's father skips town on a retreat after suffering a heart attack while having sex with someone other then his wife he leaves Lucy in charge of running 'Valentine Inc.' until he gets back. I couldn't help but suffer with Lucy in her insecurities with taking this job. I mean hello she doesn't have the gift of matchmaking anymore, every time she shakes someone's hand images of items they've lost flash through her mind making it harder for her to concentrate on faking her match making skills, especially when she sees an image of a clients lost engagement ring on the skeletal remains buried in the park. Add one nosey reporter determined to make their big break at any cost, a sexy private investigator who stirs up the sparks in her, and a grandmother set on matching her with every single bachelor she can and you get one hell of an entertaining ride. Fans of Janet Evanovich, Charlotte Hughes or Jennifer Crusie will easily fall in love with Heather Webber. This is a must read!

This was a very fun book. It reminds me of a light-hearted Victoria Laurie book from her Psychic Eye series. There's a little romance, a little mystery, and a little supernatural thrown in. It's funny and down to earth. I'll definitely be reading the next one in the series, "Desperately, Deeply."

This books is excellent! I won a copy from Goodreads' First Reads program, and I'm glad I did. Otherwise, I probably never would have heard of this book or this author. It's got a fun and unique premise that I don't want to spoil for potential readers. Lucy Valentine is a new favorite character for me, and Heather Webber is a new favorite writer. I can't wait for this book's sequel!

What a brilliantly intriguing book. About a young woman struggling to deal with a paranormal power who doesn't feel the worth of her own families love-matching power. Includes love, mystery, murder, and the completion of her search for her purpose in life. I think we all struggle to find our place within our family fabric and society. Lucy does just that. I love the author's writing voice. It is smooth and completely envelopes the reader into Lucy's world. Her experiences, emotions and thought process all keep the reader 100% engaged. I read this book in 1 day. I cannot wait to read book #2 and #3, and hopefully their will be more. I think the character of Lucy is going to start a great series of mystery, love, and enticing humor. I am really glad that I was offered the chance to read this book and look forward to Heather Webber's additional books to the series. If you like Charlaine Harris mysteries, this book falls in line with that genre. Great book, want more!!

I received an Advance Reader Copy for free in Goodreads book giveaway.

An enjoyable, quick read. Lucy is a black sheep in a family of psychics. Her father's line can read auras and have a very profitable matchmaking business while she can sense where lost items are located. This leads her on an adventure with sexy private investigator Sean Donahue. It starts a bit slow and there were a few parts that may been ARC issues, as in she gives the same background info several times. Maybe they will catch that before the final printing. There weren't any glaring spelling or grammatical issues at least!

All in all, I enjoyed it and would happily read more in the series.

I've been a fan of Heather Webber for a few years now. This is a fun, fast read. I had a hard time putting it down. I figured out the twist in the story early on but I still enjoyed it! I like the characters in this book and looking forward to reading the next installment. This is the first book in the new Lucy Valentine series.

I just loved this book! It's a blend of chick-lit, cozy mystery, paranormal, and romance all together - and it works beautifully!

The Valentine family has run a successful matchmaking business for generations (turns out, they can see auras!) - but Lucy lost her aura-seeing gift at 14 in an electrical accident. But what she gained was an ability to find lost objects.

When she has to fill in for her father in the matchmaking business while he "vacations," she finds a dead body, a new love, and an appreciation for her family's business and her own special talent.

With a compelling plot and great writing, this book was almost impossible to put down.

I was a fan of Lucy on page 11 when I discovered her cat's name is Grendel. I love authors who actually read. :o)

Lucy lost the family legacy of matchmaking when she was 14 and suddenly is thrust into running the family's matchmaking business. She has other talents, though, and it leads her into danger. I thought I had the mystery figured out early, but I was wrong.

Fun, believable characters. I will enjoy following this new series.

During her temporary stint as a matchmaker, psychic Lucy Valentine stumbles on the knowledge of a skeleton buried in a local park. Thus starts an interesting mystery wrapped in a romance when PI Sean Donahue gets involved. Is there any such thing as "love at first sight"? After her initial encounter with Sean, Lucy desperately needs an answer.

A cute and funny romantic mystery that is a quick enjoyable read.

Wow! I really liked this book! I read almost the entire thing in one sitting. (Yes, sleep got in the way...)
The book has some of everything, and it has a good mystery too! I was a little worried at first that the paranormal slant would get a bit "campy", but it really didn't. I laughed out loud in several places- Lucy is a great heroine! The story was well done, even touching in places, and it really left me wanting more! I'm picking up book 2, Deeply, Desperately, to begin it now- I really hope the storyline can keep it's edge and tension!
I think I'm going to have to check out some of Heather Webber's other work- I really liked her writing style!

"Truly, Madly" was a delightful read. I fell in love with the main character and was enamored with her wit and charm. Lucy is the type of character that you wish lived next door to you - someone you could have over for coffee and sit and talk to. She has a quirky family and a heart of gold. So when she takes over her family's business, you really want her to succeed, and not just with the business but with her own personal romantic life as well.

What made this book even more of a delight was I was expecting a romance, and I got so much more. Heather Webber spun a fantastic tale of romance and mystery with humor peppered throughout. What is even better is this is the first book of her new series. That means we will be able to get to know Lucy and her quirky family more, and hopefully see more of Sean in the future.

I adored this story and will be looking for more of Heather's books!! A great read for everyone!

Lucy doesn't have the same psychic abilities as the rest of her family, so she's worried when she's forced to take charge of the family's matchmaking business. Also she can't let anybody know her family's world famous matchmaking business is based on psychic visions & expose their secret.

She wants to use her psychic power to find a lost child & a missing skeleton, but she can only visualize lost things, not people.

Added to the fun is her grandma who is always trying to fix Lucy up with a man. Meanwhile, Lucy has the hots for the sexy, hot PI who works upstairs.

This is a great cozy with lots of twists & turns. I gave it 4.5 stars & can't wait for the next book in the series, "Deeply, Desperately."

This is the first of a series of books (at least two more). The tone of the book is light, romantic and a little bit comedic, a paranormal, chick lit with a little mystery.

This book moved slowly at first, some may have a hard time getting into it. The plot is original and well crafted.

When Truly, Madly ends you'll be eager to meet up with Lucy and the other characters again. It's an exciting beginning to a new series.

I really enjoyed this book-a friend passed it on, and I ended up reading it in a few hours. The romance is light but still satisfying, and I'm looking forward to the secondary love stories with her friends and other great characters that were introduced in this book.

Light-hearted mystery with fun characters. Not only are the main characters well developed but the supporting characters as well. I would have read it in one sitting if I didn't need to work or sleep. Very enjoyable.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this book, but I've read Heather Webber's other series and like it so I gave it a shot. The blurb on the back really does not do the story justice. Although I don't like all the usual lovey dovey stuff, this book did not overdo it...and the mystery was a good one. Loved the ending with every little thing mentioned earlier in the book is neatly tied up.

This was just what I wanted to read. A light, paranormal mystery with a side of romance thrown in! See, Lucy is a Valentine and the Valentines have this ability/gift to see auras and match people together. There is also a curse; Cupid's Curse, that follows them around that prevents a Valentine from having everlasting love. When Lucy was 14 she was shocked and lost her ability to see auras. She developed a brand new gift: the ability to find lost objects. However this made her question her identity, her worthiness, and threw her into a tailspin.
Lucy finally found herself in this book. Her parents, Oscar and Judith, have a very unconventional relationship that works for them. I really liked all the characters. This book was funny, fun, and serious. I really enjoyed the mix of paranormal, mystery, and romance. I thought the mystery was a really good one.
Lucy is a very likable character. The same for Sean and Lucy's family and group of friends. I liked that she gave up her trust fund and put herself through college. It was even better when she started to see her gift as something that was unique and beneficial. I look forward to seeing where she can go and who can be helped!
I do think the curse isn't a Curse so much as a self-fulfilling one.
