From the back cover:

Living in town while her brother, Norman, trained his horse at Newmarket was proving a dreadful bore to Miss Trudie Barten. To wile away the hours spent in the company of her aunt Gertrude, Trudie had taken to giving Latin lessons to all her brother's friends staying in town.

But the comings and goings of young men at all hours caused quite a stir in the neighborhood, bringing the arrogant Lord Luten's wrath to bear on Trudie. That formidable gentleman accused her of no less than being a lightskirt intent on ruining his wealthy and naive young nephew!

Only when the exasperated aunt and niece removed to Newmarket did the confusion begin to clear...until they met with villiany that make Lord Luten's mischief look like child's play...
