This was a fairly long read at 640 pages but far from slow! I really became immersed in it! I read my first Greg Iles book earlier this year and liked that. This was certainly not disappointing as a follow-up! It was, at times, very complex and detailed but not hard to follow, just intelligent. The ideas presented regarding the potential for use of biological agents (viruses, etc.) for evil purposes is not a new one, of course. I am not a scientist so I can't vouch for accuracy but it convinced me! It was extremely detailed, realistic and raised my pulse in a few places!! A brilliant sociopathic and just plain nasty bad guy -- who frustratingly continues to fly below the radar -- just adds to the punch!

I think this is the best of Iles work. A great villain (this guy is bad!)and he works in a hero from another of his books.

This is probably the best book I've read in ages! Keeps you intrigued from page 1 ... and doesn't let up until the very end.

This is my first Iles book. I found it to be a page turner and the book was glued to my hands, I took it everywhere! Love his writing style, however I did find there was a bit too much detail in some places and feel the ending could have been shortened. Looking foward to more of his work. I live only 60 miles from Natchez and visit there frequently. I found his descriptions of places in the city to be right on!

This was one heck of a thriller! It actually gave me a few bad dreams after staying up late reading it. The premise of the book was about dissatisfied husbands or wives using murder rather than divorce to get rid of their spouse. But the murders are not the usual killings but a guaranteed non-traceable cancer or other natural caused illness. The characters, both good and evil, are very well developed in the story. The most interesting is the evil Dr. Tarver, a brilliant researcher who is using the victims as experiments to develop a biological weapon. This is the first Iles novel I've read but I'm sure I'll be reading more of him. High recommendation for this one.
