This was a fun paranormal/ mystery/ romance. When Maryse attends her former mother-in-law's funeral, Helena sits up in the casket & jumps out. Maryse is the only one who can see her & it gets better from there. Helena follows Maryse around & torments her more than she did when she was living. Somebody is trying to kill Maryse & she, Helena & the sexy hunk Luc are trying to figure out who & why they're after Maryse before it's too late. I never figured out who the killer was & it kept me turning the pages! I can't wait for the next book in this series "Mischief in Mudbug"!

This book was witty. I liked all the characters and the premise was interesting and believable. The thing was it dragged. I'd wonder if I'd ever make it through and then it would take off and I couldn't put it down. I think if about 50 pages had been taken off this book, it would've read much better. I will read the next one thought to find out what happens.

This was my first Jana Deleon cozy mystery and I thought it was funny as hell and had a great mystery. I found the ghost of Maryse's mother-in-law to be outrageous but hilarious. Her antics while learning to be a ghost are priceless. Poor Maryse hated Helena in life and now she's stuck with her ghost until she solves her murder. Unfortunately Maryse is a botanist not a detective so solving the murder might take a while. I particularly liked sexy Luc LeJeune and thought his character was very well-written. I will definitely be reading more of this series and more of this author as a little levity goes a long way.

Sometimes being close to making a hugh medical breakthrough and having a new officemate with the only thing bigger than his ego is his sex appeal and having your mother-in-law haunt you beyond the grave is certainly more than enough to cause stress. But to add to that now someone is trying to kill you and staying alive and balancing everything will be the ultimate act in a zany comedy. That is what Maryse is facing in this story with the right amount of mystery and suspense with plenty of romance and lots of laughter.
