We're getting close to the end of the series, unless you count the three novels in "The Ancient World" series where Gordianus is a young man.
In this book, he is in his 60s and is slowing down a bit. He wants to just sit at home and enjoy his garden and extended family, but the most powerful woman in the world has other ideas. But it's still good, and---speaking of women---his daughter helps him.
