I first read Robert B. Parker when he finished an unfinished novel of Raymond Chandlers titled " Poodle Spring" with PI Philip Marlowe. He did Chandler proud.
The Triple Shot of Spenser is the successor of the hard-boiled PI Philip Marlowe, Ross Macdonald's Lew Archer, and Dashiell Hammett's Sam Spade.
Pastime is gripping, gritty. Spenser must search his own past in a startling game of memory, desire, and danger.
Double Deuce puts Spenser face to face with a Boston street gang after a drive-by shooting. And for the double edge sword, Susan wants her longtime lover, Spenser, to up the ante in their relationship. Spenser's completely out of his element - but he's going to give both his best shot.
Paper Doll is Parker at the top of his game and puts Spenser in a hunt and seek case where a random act of murder is not as it appears, and Spenser searches for a motive behind it, and finds more secrets than he counted on.
