This book was so funny and bizarre. I loved it, way better than what I was expecting!
Dorsey's usual fun!
Hilarious read--similar to Carl Hiassen, and also takes place in good old crazy Florida. This guy is good!!!
Jim Davenport and his family move to Tampa Fl. from up north. He mistakenly thinks Thampa is one of the top ten cities in the U.S. to bring up a family. There first nite in Tampa they hear a loud boom. It is a shotgun blast. It goes down hill from there for the Davenports. The neighborhood they move to has hookers, aggressive ball parents, a serial killer and casual violence.
This is the usual Dorsey insane Florida humor, with Serge A. Storms and a cast of crazies.
Laugh out loud funny. One of the best of the Serge A. Storms stories.
More Incredibly wacky, funny stuff from Dorsey
Ensconced in a lovely tropical villa on idyllic Triggerfish Lane, Jim Davenport anticipates the good life to come. But this isn't living - it's Florida - and the neighborhood is not quite what it seems. It's got overly aggressive Little League parents, drug-free Rastafarians, homicidal hookers, unnatural sex and casual violence. Oh, yes, and there's a psychopathic serial killer-cum-Sunshine-State folklorist named Serge A. Storms living directly across the street. "Hilarious"

"Hilarious....the only book out this year the reading of which will qualify as an aerobic workout." Denver Rocky Mountain News
Tim Dorsey has a particular, imaginative, and fast-paced humor that in unique, one of a kind. Serge Storms comes off as a crazy, strong willed character, who at times knows what he wants to do, but then confused. That combination leads the reader to delve more into the book.
Good read.
