Brief chapters with fascinating tales about European royalty. Bad things happen when you inbreed for centuries at a time, and the stories are here to prove it!

LOVE this book. It's really funny, and shocking, all at the same time. The section about the Popes is especially entertaining; the Catholic Church should have ousted these criminals long ago! Definitely one of my top 5 books on the subject.

"A Treasury of Royal Scandals" offers up fascinating history lessons -- tabloid style. This gossipy book is fun to read although somewhat disjointed. The author jumps back and forth between different monarchs and time periods but includes helpful historical timelines and family trees.

While the book contained some neat tidbits of history, I didn't like the writing style or format at all. It read like 'fluff,' and I felt like I was reading tabloids about historical figures rather than a reputable history book.

I really enjoyed this book and found it to be quite funny. Some stories were familiar but some were news to me!

Funny and irreverent look at the royal heads of Europe (with a side trip through the Roman Emperors and the Papacy), listing feuds, sexual peccadilloes, assassinations, and diverse medical oddities, among other tidbits.

"Gleeful, naughty, somtimes perverted - like so many of the crowned heads themselves - ...presents the best (the worst?) of royal misbehavior throught the ages." ...from the book cover
