This book is written more for the history novice. I was aware of, and had read in more depth, most of the events covered in the book. Many of these events, like Sickles killing of Key, are the subject of an entire book.

Still, not everyone likes history as much as I and so this is a good read to give to many who will be surprised to learn that not all our historical figures were brave, moral, clean and generous.

For example, as far as I am concerned, Thomas Jefferson was one of our worst presidents for many reasons. The only great achievement of his time in office was the Louisiana Purchase.

Really great stuff. The emphasis of the book is not some dry college history books. The information comes in bite sized nuggets of fun. :)
I consider myself something of a history buff and there was a great deal of things I've never heard of.
The Ima Hogg chapter was worth the whole book! Seriously good stuff.
