Kind of creepy and you don't see the last twist until it comes. A very short read but a good one. If you ever read "Darkness at Noon" you will think it is going that way and in a way it is but in a Rod Serling kind of way. Good short read

TRAVELS IN THE SCRIPTORIUM is a great book. There are references to characters from other books by Paul Auster; however, it's okay if you haven't read the books they appear in. It may prove to be an introduction to those particular characters. The ending is completely unexpected (and possibly confusing). But do not give up on the book if the ending does not meet your expectations. Read it with an open mind, and pay attention to everything. If the ending makes no sense, read it again. To read this book is to be inside the mind of a brilliant writer.
