I highly recommend David Ziegler's book "Traumatic Experience and the Brain" to be read by anyone working with children who have been traumatized in any way, or even those working with adults who were truamatized when they were children. Dr. Ziegler presents the information in such a way that the average person can understand it, but it is still very insightful and there is a lot of new material in this, the 2nd, edition.

Based on his research and his own experence working with children who have been traumatized, Dr. Ziegler is able to explain to the average person the impact of trauma on a child's developing brain, and then he goes on to show how best to treat the child. This book has case examples to show how trauma has impacted children's brains and also to show how treatment can then be correctly implemented.

I found this book to be extremely interesting and full of a lot of helpful material. I feel it could be useful to anyone who works with children, or anyone who works with adults who have a history of past trauma.
