It's another good installment in the series, although this one has more of the romance sub-plot between Mattie and Cole than the others. I liked the methodical approach to finding the clues and tracking down the villains and the outfitter's scheme was rather grim. Really really like how Mattie works with Robo, there are so many good details. Also really like how the LEOs are a team, working together, making sure everyone has backup and just doing the job without unnecessary drama. But even when I'm fully involved in a story I can't help finding little bits to wonder about and this time, towards the end, it was the weight that Cole and Glenna had to lift (not to mention the horse that pulled the travois...not easy in rugged country). 500 pounds maybe? Can't say more without spoilers. I tried to stop thinking about it but obviously didn't succeed. :-) Anyway - nice pacing, good characters, good sense of place, and some indication of issues that will come up for Mattie in the next book. I think the next is already out, so I'll be looking for it.
