I really enjoyed this book. It's one of those books that you're sorry has come to an end. Looking forward to reading #2 in the series. Definate page-turner!!

What a good read. Bree Nicholls has lost her son and her husband to a plane crash. To make it worse, there are no bodies to recover and bury. Bree, who is part of a dog search and rescue service, makes it her goal to find the bodies of her family, wherever they might be in the hills and valleys of the wild Michigan Upper Peninsula. There's the park ranger who starts out feeling dog search and rescue is nothing more than a bother; there is the best friend who wants a relationship with the local widower; there's the pushy sister in law who tries to rule Bree's life; there's the mysterious woman who lives off in the forest; and there's a murder to solve. What else could you want in this first book of the series? It is a great set up for the next book in the series. I hope to be able to read it soon!

The first in Colleen Coble's Rock Harbor series is set in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The author's vivid descriptions of the area's beauty and wilderness together with an interesting story about a murder, a plane crash and a search and rescue team make this a recommended read. Started the second book in the series last night.

Excellent christian myrder mystery. The sleuth is a female, aided by the help of her loving dog and there is a romantic interest developed too. LOVE IT! Great, fun, lighthearted, agatha award worthy mystery.

This is the first book I have read by Colleen Coble and I plan to read more!! She has turned me into a fan! This was so fast moving and I really got attached to the characters. Very impressed! And the hints of scripture through out the book were not overbearing or preachy to me- it was just right

The book holds your attention well. It is good suspense along with background Christian principles without being preachy. I am preparing to read the next two books in the series soon. The reading is not heavy but really has a good story of some romance and a good mystery.

I loved this story so much. I loved the fact that the character had a bond with her dog and he played an important part of the story. I loved the remote cabin scenes too. The twist was well written to keep me guessing until the end. Excellent story! I wish there was a sequel!

A plane crash claimed the lives of her husband and son, but Bree Nichols and Samson, her search-and-rescue dog, won't rest until they've recovered the lost bodies--or combed every inch of the wilderness trying.

Meanwhile, the quiet town of Rock Harbor is disturbed by a violent crime. Bree soon discovers a personal stake in the solving of the murder, and in the course of her investigation, discovers links to her husband's plane crash. Could solving the crime bring her peace with her own loss? Or, more incredibly, reunite her family?

This is a great story, full of suspense, adventure, sorrow, happiness, light romance and a good message of what God can do in your life. Looking forward to the continuing series with Bree, Samson, Nicole and the rest of the family and friends of Rock Harbor.
The book moves very quickly, never a dull moment and very exciting.

Colleen Coble is a new author for me. Mystery/suspense is not what I usually read, but I really enjoyed this book. And having the search and rescue dog just added to it.

Bree and Samson, her search and rescue companion, spend as much time as possible searching the nearby national reserve for her husband's downed plane. Nearly a year has passed, and Bree is still not able to let go of loosing her young son in the crash. Then a friend is found at the bottom of a cliff, but when Samson finds something that makes this seeming accident a murder, Bree turns her efforts toward solving this new mystery.

Some romantic relationships are introduced, and I look forward to reading the next book to see how love blooms.

I enjoyed this book. It was entertaining and wholesome. I love mysteries and this combined a lot of different interests: romance, intrigue and Christianity.

The difference is the dimensions of the book when it was reprinted. The dimensions on this book are 6X4 and the other book is larger 8X5. This makes a difference if you love the series and keep the books. And this is book # 1 in the Rock Harbor series.

Not sure why PBS title says "repackage", there's nothing like that in the book, this is 3rd book in the series.
