I found the text rather difficult to read; it appeared the author used many references to back up the theories she was presenting. However, the references were so many the book became very dense, full of more information than it needed.

This is a fascinating book that takes up a number of famous artists, musicians, poets, etc., and finds some clues to their creativity in their mental illness. I have never felt the same about bipolar disease since reading it.
