This is book two in a series, and I had not read the first book - could not get into this book at all. Read the first 80 pages or so then started skimming. Interesting idea regarding vampire parasites. Many of the characters seem one-sided - ie, the evil doctor, etc. Rooting for the bad guys to finish off this series.
I loved this book. I got lost in it. It definitely helped that I read the first one, of course, and I didn't enjoy that one as much as this one but it was necessary. The authors draw you in and make your care about the characters. Lots of action, easy read.
Better then the first book, Katie is still in the middle between the vamps and the wolves but there are new enemies after Katie and her family and friends. But there is good news for her baby brother.
not a bad book, super slow in places, but it did have a good story line.
This book won't make much sense without reading Book 1 first.
