From the author of novels, including From Here to Eternity and its sequels, this is a detective novel. Set in the early 1970's, a hard drinking detective uncovers nefarious activities of various residents of an obscure Greek island. Well-paced, somewhat dated (many characters are hippies) story. I'm a fan of James Jones, and this was a different type story for him, but a satisfying read.
