I rate this one a 4.5.

I am terrible at writing reviews but Tooth and Nail was such a standout for a zombie novel, I had to at least say something.

Zombie books are often not written extremely well, but Tooth and Nail is different. The writing is excellent and it depicts a realistic scenario of an Army Company battling through hordes of zombies in New York. The dialog is realistic, the character's actions are very much human (no pun intended) and the characters are actually interesting. The book has a number of Laugh out Loud moments even though it's not a comedy. I won't spoil anything but again, for a change, the ending was honest.

I don't recommend many books in this sub-genre, but I DO recommend this one.
