An amazing book! The title refers to the Bible text, which is quoted to the father, the main male character, at the beginning of the story. Sure enough, his life is turned upside down by the events of the next 24 hours. His two daughters, half sisters by different mothers, both come into his life after having been deprived of their father for most of their lives. Completely different in personality and character, they resemble their respective mothers. An amazing transformation is subtly and incredibly accomplished in several of the characters by the end of the story, which has a strong underlying spiritual tone throughout.

When lovely young Silver Greeve's grandmother died, her last words were "Go to him, he needs you." Meeting her father for the first time, Silver is touched by his tenderness and yet he seems so defeated and alone. Then she meets Athalie, her violent stepsister, whose wanton rages were dishonoring the family name. Suddenly Silver knows exactly why she has come: to bring peace, gentleness and love into her father's home.

This author is cherished by millions in more than one generation! Her stories are inspiring and wholesome Christian reading that is very hard to find even today. She brings mystery, love, and faith into play within all her stories. Each one is fascinating, and this is precisely why we have so many "collectors" on Bookswap ordering her books as fast as different titles come available!
