Tommyland
Author: Tommy Lee, Anthony Bozza
I am Tommy Lee, born Thomas Lee Bass in Athens, Greece, on October 3, 1962, and raised in a suburb of California by an American father and a Greek mother. At seventeen, I joined Mötley Crüe and we became one of the baddest-ass rock bands in history. We sold over 40 million albums, we wreaked havoc, we scared parents, and we titillated ...  more »

The most non-insightful, self-centered, boring book ever written. You know it's bad news when part of the book is written by Tommy's penis (seriously). And what's really sad is that he thinks he's really insightful and deep towards the end of the book. Have no idea why I finished this book -- probably was too tired to get up and get a different one from the shelf. No words to explain the horribleness... hours of my life I'll never get back.

Apparently I'm in a minority, but I really liked this book. Tommy Lee doesn't come off like an egomaniacal rock star, he comes off like a sweet, sincere, regular guy. Having had the pleasure of briefly meeting him once, that was the impression I got of him in person, and it was reinforced by Tommyland. I've always had a crush on Tommy Lee, and this book made me fall in love with him a little more. What a sweetheart.

However, those who aren't Motley Crue fans, Tommy Lee fans, or 80's metal fans need not apply. The book isn't good enough to stand alone as a memoir if you didn't already know of and like Tommy Lee. That said, it's got some juicy stuff in it and I enjoyed reading it.

This was a quick read for me,although it was not very detailed. I do respect Tommy Lee for not going into detail about much of his life. He did this very tastefully.(I felt like he may have held back out of respect for his children) Also he did not show any didrespect to any of his ex's.Well written book...I would have loved to have read the real juice, but can feel his total devotion to his family in his words in this book. Everyone should read it,JUST TO GET A FEEL FOR THE REAL PERSON TOMMY LEE HAS GROWN TO BE.

After reading Heroin Diares and since I've always been a Tommy fan...i got this book...it tells mostly about just that~ TOMMY....it's not a book about MOTLEY at all...this is such a good book...not quite an autobiography, and he goes to explain that...it's just about key points in his life and it really shapes him as the cool-down-to-earth guy you might already think him to be!!! I wanna be his friend!!! GREAT BOOK...it's gonna have to be a keeper i think!

This book was entertaining with pics and his anecdotes from his "best buddy". If your a fan of Motley Crue you might already know some of what is in the book, but you really get to know that Tommy is a passionate man who lives life on his terms. This book humanizes the mega-star that is Tommy Lee. I enjoyed it :)

This is probably one of the worst autobiographies I have ever read. I am a big Motely Crue fan esp. of Tommy Lee. The book is not that thick either. For the life he has lived I think he could have written a better story.

I was really excited to get and read this book. I have read The Dirt and Heroin Diaries and loved them both. Then I started reading this one and was very let down. I really didn't enjoy having his p***s comment about everything. It was hard to take the rest of it serious. Very disappointing.

I'm not sure exactly what to make of Tommyland. On one hand, it's funny at times. Outrageous, too.

Tommy is also fairly even-handed, giving Pam space to say some stuff that isn't always complimentary towards him.

But on the other hand, it's also self-indulgent. And Tommy works hard at finding excuses for his mistakes in life.

In the end, it's not a read that you regret, but your life experience won't be lessened by missing it, either.

And, yes, part of it is written from the point of view of his penis.

Reading this book is something like sitting around having a few beers and listening to a great friend tell hilarious stories. Very cool, fun read. Tommy Lee may not be the brightest crayon in the box, but he's damn straight the biggest!
