The sinking of the Titanic was one of the most disastrous accidents of all time. The sad part is that many of the deaths could have been avoided. That's the sad part of this story. If attitudes would have been different, it would have been a whole different story. It was just one big screw-up from day one from assuming that this ship would never sink to the closing off of decks where the 3rd class were riding. It seems that right from the start this was ship just for the upper class. Oh sure, the poorer passengers could ride if they could drum up the money, but they could not have the same things that those riding in 1st class could have.

I did like the book, but I was a bit disappointed that many of the stories were just about the wealthier passengers. They all pretty much read the same to me. Towards the last of the book is where a few stories come in about the honeymoon couples who were 2nd and third class passengers.
